It strives to support improvement of health care provision, medical training and medical science in the Republic of Serbia.

Our Aims
1. To promote links between British and Serbian medical societies and related institutions
With a knowledge of key institutions in both countries, the BSMA, whose members include a high proportion of professionals born in Serbia, is in a position to provide information and advice and facilitate links and exchanges between institutions in the two countries. The BSMA proactively encourages collaboration between medical institutions in Serbia and the UK by facilitating direct communication between equivalent professional bodies, and individual health care (and associated) professionals.
2. To establish and provide bursaries/grants for doctors and other associated professionals from Serbia to visit centres in Great Britain. And to provide bursaries/grants for doctors and other associated professionals from Great Britain to visit Serbia in order to assist colleagues with their work, including: training, running courses and holding seminars.
Medical professionals who wish to apply for a bursary/grant are required to complete and submit an application form outlining the purpose of the visit, which goals are to be achieved, and how the institution in Serbia would benefit from the exchange..
3. To collaborate with British institutions, including humanitarian organisations, on matters related to the provision of aid to hospitals, as well as other medical, scientific and healthcare institutions in Serbia.
The BSMA is in a position to advise British institutions, including humanitarian organisations, on the needs and priorities of various medical and other institutions in Serbia and to assist or to cooperate with them in achieving a common goal.
4. To promote professional and social networking between medical professionals in diaspora.

Our History
The BMSA was established in the Great Britain in December 2000 by a group of medical professionals following the election of the first democratic government in the Republic of Serbia.
