Current Activities
Organisation Meetings |
(i) The BSMA will continue to seek logistic and financial support for meetings and seminars. The BSMA is a co-founder and organizer of British-Serbian Pain Symposium (BISOP) which runs annually since 2006 (www.pain-belgrade.info).
(ii) The BSMA will also support the creation of other programs, all with the aim of helping postgraduate activities in Serbia (see summary of postgraduate programs supported by the BSMA) |
Contact with professional organisations |
(i) The BSMA has established a link with The Royal Society of Medicine which has kindly allowed us to use one of their conference rooms for our meetings.
(ii) The BSMA is in the process of developing contacts with The Royal College of Physicians. This institution plays a key role in maintaining standards of training and medical practice in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. (iii) The British Society of Immunology is looking into ways of helping immunologists in Serbia by providing free subscription to their journal and financial help for a Serbian immunologist to attend an annual congress in the UK. |

BSMA scholarship
|
The scholarship is granted to selected candidates upon successful application in chosen specialty.
It provides financial support and placement in a UK medical institution for 1 month. It aims to enable a candidate to get familiar with UK health service, acquire knowledge and learn new skills which could be implemented upon return. |
